Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-05-19 Last Updated: 2026-05-19

This Privacy Policy explains how Shoplog (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), published by Hong An Nguyen (“the Publisher”), handles information when you use Shoplog on your iPhone or iPad.

Plain-language summary: Shoplog is an offline-first app that stores all of your shop’s data on your device. We do not run servers, do not have user accounts, and do not collect, transmit, or sell your data or your customers’ data. The only data that leaves your device is what you explicitly send (printing a receipt, sharing an export, processing a card via Square, etc.).

1. Who we are

Shoplog is published by Hong An Nguyen (the “Publisher”). You can contact us at nguyenhongan109@gmail.com.

2. What data Shoplog uses, and where it lives

Shoplog operates entirely on your device. The app’s database (orders, customers, payments, photos, settings) is stored locally in your iOS app sandbox using SQLite. We do not maintain servers that store, mirror, or back up your shop data.

Specifically, the App accesses the following on your device, only when you ask it to:

Data Why Where it goes
Customer information you enter (names, phone numbers, email, notes) So you can manage your shop’s customers and orders Stored only on your device
Order details (items, services, prices, photos, status) So you can track work for each customer Stored only on your device
Photos you take with the camera or pick from your library To attach to orders and receipts Stored only inside the app’s private sandbox on your device — not in your device’s Photo Library
Payment records (amounts, methods, tips) So you can track what’s owed and what’s been paid Stored only on your device
Shop settings (your shop’s name, address, currency, timezone, tax rate) To configure the App and print receipts Stored only on your device

If you uninstall the App, all of this data is deleted by iOS along with the app sandbox.

3. What we do NOT collect

To be explicit, the Publisher does not:

4. Permissions the App requests

When you use certain features, iOS will ask you to grant the following permissions. We only access these for the stated purpose and only on your device:

You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings → Shoplog. The App will continue to work without them; features that depend on them will be disabled.

5. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Shoplog offers an optional “Pro” subscription. Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple’s App Store and Apple’s StoreKit framework. We do not receive your payment details, credit card number, or Apple ID. We only receive a receipt from Apple confirming whether your subscription is active.

Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

6. Optional third-party integrations

The App offers optional integrations that send data outside your device only when you actively use them:

Square Point of Sale (optional, off by default)

If you enable Square POS to charge a card, the App opens Square’s app via a URL scheme and passes the order amount. Square processes the card payment and returns the result to Shoplog. Card details, customer identity, and payment processing are governed by Square’s Privacy Notice. The Publisher does not see or store your customers’ card information.

Printing and Sharing

If you print a receipt or share an export, iOS handles the operation. The destination (printer, AirDrop recipient, email, etc.) is whatever you choose at the moment of sharing.

iCloud Backup (controlled by iOS)

If you have iCloud Backup enabled in iOS Settings, Apple includes the App’s data in your encrypted device backup. This is governed by Apple, not the Publisher. You can exclude Shoplog from iCloud Backup in iOS Settings → [Your Apple ID] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups.

7. Crash reports and diagnostics

The App may collect anonymized crash diagnostics to help us fix bugs. If we do this:

8. Your customers’ data and your responsibilities as a shop owner

When you enter information about your shop’s customers (names, phone numbers, etc.), you decide what to enter and you are responsible for handling that information in accordance with the laws that apply to your business and location. Depending on your jurisdiction, this may include:

The Publisher provides the App as a tool. You act as the data controller for your customers’ information stored within the App on your device.

9. Children

Shoplog is intended for use by adults operating a business. The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data about children.

10. Your rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have direct control over it at all times. You can:

We cannot access, modify, or delete data on your device on your behalf — only you can.

If you are a customer of a shop using Shoplog and want your data removed, please contact the shop owner directly, since the data is stored on their device.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the App or App Store update notes.
